killswitch9This past Saturday (12) as part of the city-wide CBGB Fest, Killswitch Engage played the 400-capacity Santos Party House. Considering that they’ll be back in New York in less than two weeks at the eight-times-larger Roseland Ballroom, Saturday was quite an underplay. The sold-out show was sponsored by the Merciless Book of Metal Lists, and proceeds from the show went to the FC Foundation, a cancer awareness organization.

The career-spanning set was, obviously, heavy on Killswitch’s second album, Alive of Just Breathing, the band’s breakthrough album and last one Jesse Leach sang on before taking a 10 year hiatus from the band. They played three songs from their new album, this year’s Disarm the Descent, including the live debut of “Turning Point,” as well as a smattering of songs from Howard Jones’ tenure in the band. The crowd was full of die-hard fans, who stage-dove throughout the set, keeping the spirit of CBGB alive. Metal Insider contributor Maclyn Bean  was there to capture some stellar pics of the band . Check out his work below.
