tarjaWhen Tarja Turunen very publicly parted ways with Nightwish back in 2005, many wondered how she would carry on without the symphonic metal band. Since then, she’s not only carried on with her solo career, but flourished. On September 24th, her fourth solo album, Colours in the Dark, will be released in America. It continues the course she’s charted over the last three original albums: the Finnish singer’s operatic vocals, mixing with orchestral music and choral arrangements that will appeal to fans of symphonic music and power metal alike.

While you’ve gotten a chance to take in the album opener, “Victim of Ritual,” Metal Insider is proud to bring you its closer, “Medusa.” The eight-minute plus epic is a slow-burning track is a duet with Blue October’s Justin Furstenfeld. From Lacuna Coil-esque goth metal to classical, this haunting track spans genres. Check out “Medusa” below.

Colours in the Dark will be released on September 24th in America on Armoury.
