It has been a long 2 1/2 years since Nightwish performed live to a sold out crowd. Wednesday, July 28th, this all changed as the band snuck into Club Teatria in Oulu, Finland disguised as a Nightwish cover band. The show was billed as Nevski & The Prospects but as the sell out may indicate, fans may have been hip to the fact that they would be witnessing Nightwish itself.

Session bassist Jukka Koskinen took the stage in place of former bassist and vocalist Marko “Marco” Hietala. Hietala recently left the band due to personal reasons to evaluate his future. This secret show is a strong indicator that the band is back. These symphonic metal masters released Human. :II: Nature., in April of last year. The successor to 2015’s Endless Forms Most Beautiful, Human. :II: Nature. is a double album containing nine tracks on the main CD and one long track, divided into eight chapters, on CD 2.
