As we mentioned yesterday, When announcing their summer tour yesterday, Slash joined Aerosmith for a few songs during an intimate set at the Whisky A Go Go. Both Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith have songs that are burned into the rock and roll lexicon – unless, of course, you’re Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler. Starting the instantly-recognizable riff to “Welcome to the Jungle,” Joe Perry and the remainder of the band set the GN’R volleyball up for Tyler to spike. Instead, he lamely attempted to sing the first verse of the song. He got the “Welcome to the Jungle” part right, and that was about it. The band continued on for about 30 seconds before pulling the plug and launching into “Train Kept A Rollin.'” We’re guessing there won’t be any more cross-band jamming on their summer tour. Check the dates here.
