North Carolina nü-metallers Dear Desolate have unleashed a brand new single and music video for the song “73.” The group are influenced by acts such as KoRn, Slipknot and Linkin Park, and following the passing of frontman Chester Bennington, this song will leave you with scars.

The track was produced by Josh Schroeder (King 810, Legend) and ironically, it’s about drummer Kris Sunico’s childhood friend who took his own life. His friend left a suicide note but was never shared with anyone but his parents.

Sunico commented:

“There are so many emotions that run through you when you lose someone close so unexpectedly. I always wondered what was in the note that he left. Was I included in it? I would like to think that 73 correctly depicts what my friend left behind.”
