Slipknot have been in the public spotlight for nearly 20 years, and their five albums have become pretty much standards in the hard rock and metal communities for songs like “Eyeless,” “Duality,” “Psychosocial” and “Pulse of the Maggots.” There have been countless covers of songs by the band, but none as odd as the one done by YouTube dude Leo Moracchioli. It’s interesting enough that it’s an “acoustic” cover of a non-acoustic song. And while there’s already a clown in the band, Moracchioli makes for a more disturbing clown than Shawn Crahan, and his use of slide whistles, timpani and tuba aren’t enough to derail the cover of the song. We realized midway through watching it that we need an adult. It’s the closest thing we’ll be getting to Slipknot for a while, but at least you’ve got two Stone Sour songs to fill the Corey Taylor-shaped hole in your heart.
