russiancircles2016

For the last 12 years, Chicago trio Russian Circles have been bringing us beautifully heavy instrumental post-rock. As sludgy and post-metally as Isis, but with the uplift of Explosions in the Sky, they’ve even wound up being used as background music by NBC Sports. It’s  been three years since their last album, and this August, we’ll be getting some more music from them via the release of their seventh album, Guidance, on Sargent House. The album was recorded by GodCity Studio by Kurt Ballou, and you can get a brief sampling of it via the below video. Before their album is out, they’ll be playing the Levitation fest in Vancouver, then in August and September, they’ll be hitting the road on two separate legs with Cloakroom and Helms Alee, respectively. You can see those dates below the video.
