Legendary Texas speed metal group Rigor Mortis has begun an Indiegogo campaign in attempts to crowdfund their fourth and final album, Slave to the Grave. Having just finished the recording before the unfortunate passing of guitarist Mike Scaccia, all there is left is to release the album. With labels being reluctant to fund an album that wouldn’t have a touring band out supporting it, Rigor Mortis took it upon themselves to crowdfund the album via popular service Indiegogo so that they can afford to self-release the album this October 7th. All of the money will go towards paying off their recording debt, the artwork, packing, manufacturing, distribution and promotion. They also said that an excess raised will go towards extra promotions, as well as helping in re-releasing Rigor Mortis’ back catalogue and new merch. The band is offering a variety of rewards for the donations, with the album itself being included with anything at the $25+ price range. Included with the first 5,000 copies of the cd will also be a “making of” DVD, so it would be best to get on the campaign sooner rather than later.

“We’re offering a ton of cool incentives, like signed copies of the cd/dvd, LPs, posters, T shirts, hoodys, patches, stickers, shot glasses, flasks, original artwork, merch bundles, and much more! We will keep adding rewards throughout the campaign.”

As of right now, the band is at $1,525 of the $20,000 they’re seeking to raise since launching the campaign on June 29th, and has another 59 days till the conclusion on August 28th. You can support the band by contributing to their project here as well as giving them a like on Facebook.
