We knew Rammstein would be doing something dealing with their forays into America from the cryptic DVD teaser they posted a few weeks back. Now they’ve announced what it is, and like everything they do, it’s larger than life. Rammstein In Amerika will be a 2DVD set released on Island/uME on September 25. Confirming what we’d suspected, the DVD will showcase the band’s triumphant return to America in 2010, in which they sold out Madison Square Garden in 30 minutes. However, that’s only part of what will be in the package.

There’s also a Rammstein In Amerika two-hour documentary. Curated and overseen by the band themselves, it looks at the band’s history, showing how they made it as a worldwide act following the reunification of Germany. Some of the things included are working with David Lynch for the Lost Highway soundtrack and the arrest of two of its members in Massachusetts for their “lewd and lascivious” stage show. Iggy Pop, Marilyn Manson, Steven Tyler, Jonathan Davis and many more were interviewed for the film. In addition, there’s also a documentary on the making of the band’s last album, Liebe ist fur alle da.
