British death-doom legends My Dying Bride have announced their fifteenth full-length offering, A Mortal Binding, slated for release on April 19th via Nuclear Blast Records. To celebrate the reveal, the group has dropped a Daniel Gray-directed video for the record’s first single, “Thornwyck Hymn.” A Mortal Binding marks the much-anticipated follow-up to their 2020 album The Ghost of Orion, promising a dark journey filled with turmoil through anxiety and loss. Produced, mixed, and mastered by Mark Mynett, the album was recorded consecutively from July to September 2023 at Mynett’s Mynetaur Productions in Manchester, UK.

Aaron Stainthorpe comments:

“Set upon the rugged coast of Yorkshire, Thornwyck village has spent an eternity being haunted by the chill waters that wash it’s shore – and the hidden folk who dwell in the salty depths. Woe betide anyone who fares into the briny sea, or even steels to close to it’s edge for they may never set foot back on mother earth.”
