Earlier this week, Ministry launched a countdown clock on their website. Now that the countdown is over, the group has shared a lyric video created by Agent Ogden for the brand new track “Alert Level.” Mastermind Al Jourgensen has already re-entered the studio and is working on a new album, and today we get to hear a taste of the powerful new song. The track holds a profound message to America, which can also be a global message due to facing epidemics, environmental crises, and political corruption. But America does have an election coming up as Jourgensen comments:

“We finished the song in January and it sounded great during rehearsals for our Australia/Japan tour dates, before we went into quarantine. The original plan was to finish the new record before the July ‘Industrial Strength’ US tour so we could have an Election Day release, but in lieu of the circumstances—and how relevant the song feels for these bizarre times—we decided to release ‘Alert Level’ now. Considering that this song features the question ‘How concerned are you?’ I’ll be interested to see how folks answer it themselves.”

The song lets fans interact with the question, “How concerned are you?” As fans are welcome to upload videos, 30 seconds or less to their social media accounts with a hashtag: #MinistryAlertLevel. Ministry members will be watching the clips and select videos that are most meaningful to them and eventually share them out. However, this is Ministry we are talking about as the group also encourages their fans to vote in the upcoming 2020 elections. Ministry has partnered with HeadCount to help voters to become registered in time, which you can find more info at this location.
