Lacuna-Coil-Main-PromoLacuna Coil have kind of been in a sort of limbo for their last few albums. After the early 2000’s goth-rock success of Evanescence (who they predated), the band’s last several albums have found them chasing active rock success, with varied results. Cristina Scabbia is a fantastic singer, but the material wasn’t always there. The band’s overhauled half of their lineup, and have a new album, Delirium coming out on May 27th. The first taste of it, “The House of Shame,” is hands down the heaviest thing they’ve come out with for a while, and they’ve just premiered a lyric video for it on Revolver. Andrea Ferro’s verses are pure heaviness, and Scabbia’s vocals come in and redeem the grit of the verses with an angelic chorus. If you’ve written the band off, you should give this a listen.
