Australian metalcore act I Killed The Prom Queen has announced its signing with Epitaph Records. The band’s third album is set to be released in 2014, eight years after the release of Music For The Recently Deceased in 2006. If that seems like forever ago, that’s because it was.

On the subject of the signing, guitarist Jona Weinhofen says:

“We are absolutely ecstatic to join the Epitaph Records family. Having worked with the label previously with Bring Me The Horizon, I knew exactly what Epitaph was capable of and that it would be the perfect home for I Killed The Prom Queen. Epitaph is already the home to so many of our heroes such as Converge, Refused, Pennywise and Every Time I Die, and has helped launch our good friends Parkway Drive, The Ghost Inside, Day Of Contempt, Letlive. and more. To say that we are a part of this family is truly an honour.”

The band will be recording in Gothenburg, Sweden with Fredrik Nordström, guitarist for Dream Evil whose production credits include At The Gates and Bring Me The Horizon (the band which Weinhofen left earlier this year). The band is also expected to tour in support of the new album. You can check out a teaser about the band’s new album above.
