Alt-rockers Flat Earth have released a lyric video for their new single “Neverhappy.”

In a statement about the song, singer Anttoni “Anthony” Pikkarainen called the track, “A song about people who don’t ever let themselves be happy,” and says,

“Overwhelming negativity seems to be a goddamn culture these days, and poor are the ones who think life is about contemplating your own insignificant problems. I’m sure the simplicity of life has added greatly to this phenomenon — people are sick for not worrying about real-life problems so they think they can elevate to have unrealistic expectations about their lives. Rightfully life will bring everyone of us to our knees sooner or later.”

“Neverhappy” is the second single from Flat Earth’s as-yet-untitled upcoming sophomore album, due for release some time in the fall of 2020. The band has been working on it since early 2019 with producer Tim Palmer mixing and released the song “Draining By Your Flame” in March 2020. Flat Earth released their debut album, None For One, in 2018.

Formed in 2017, Flat Earth is bassist/band founder Niclas Etelävuori (ex-Amorphis), singer Pikkarainen (Polanski), guitarist Mikko “Linde” Lindström (ex-HIM) and drummer Mika “Gas Lipstick” Karppinen (ex-HIM).

The band has a handful of fall 2020 European tour dates, including a rescheduled date in Helsinki, Finland on September 25, three dates in Germany from October 28-30 with Silverkord, and a rescheduled date in Camden, UK on November 1.
