Friday will bring us the debut Nuclear Blast album from Fallujah. Dreamless, the band’s third album, is going to be atop quite a few year-end lists if it’s as good as what we’ve heard of it so far. “Scar Queen” and “The Void Alone” have taken the band’s brand of progressive death metal and expanded on it, and now the band’s released another song from the album, “Abandon.” It’s the most melodic of the three tracks despite Alex Hoffman’s vocals. There are also some female vocals, courtesy of Katie Thompson that smooth out his rough edges. At time, this sounds like Cynic, but doesn’t just parrot them.
Dreamless will be available on Friday on Nuclear Blast. It can be preordered here.
