Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has released a video for his new single, “Rain On The Graves.” The track is taken from his upcoming solo album, The Mandrake Project, set to arrive on March 1st via BMG. The single features Bruce’s live band and explores themes inspired by a visit to William Wordsworth’s grave in the Lake District.

“Rain On The Graves” explores the nature of mortality and the age-old artistic pact with the Devil. The video, shot in Cornwall and directed by Ryan Mackfall, showcases Bruce as an actor and preacher, making his own pact with the Devil, accompanied by his ‘House Band from Hell.’

This single follows the highly acclaimed “Afterglow Of Ragnarok” and highlights the inventive, expansive nature of The Mandrake Project

However, The Mandrake Project isn’t just an album; it’s a dark, adult graphic novel series by Bruce Dickinson. It explores themes of power, abuse, and identity against a backdrop of scientific and occult genius. Illustrated by Staz Johnson and featuring covers by Bill Sienkiewicz, the comic will be released as 12 quarterly issues, culminating in three annual graphic novels. The first episode hit comic shops on January 17th, with the special Collectors’ Edition selling out within 48 hours.

Dickinson comments:

“I had the chorus lyric since I visited Grasmere for a wedding back in 2012 and it wasn’t difficult years later to create the rest of the song with so much rich imagery in my head!”
