Like it or not, Babymetal are a legitimate phenomenon. They’ve sold thousands of copies of their debut album, even though it just recently got picked up by Sony to come out in America. The American version of the album will feature two new songs, including “Road To Resistance.” That song is the subject of a live video, recorded at Japan’s Saitama Super Arena in front of 20,000 rabid fans.  While the studio version of the song features DragonForce’s Herman Li and Sam Totman, they’re not on the live version. However, what the video lacks in DragonForce, it makes up for in theatricality. Watching it, you get a sense of why the metal/J-pop band have taken off so suddenly. Fire, choreography, a furious mosh pit, and top notch production values add up to something that’s slick and prepackaged, but actually features some great musicianship.

The album will be available digitally this coming Tuesday (12), with a physical version coming on June 16.
