Eleven years ago, a little band from Huntington Beach, CA released an album called Waking the Fallen that galvanized the metal world and became one of the most popular albums released that year. That band’s name was Avenged Sevenfold, and the rest, as they say, is history. Now Avenged Sevenfold is paying homage to the album that got them to where they are today with a giant re-issue. Entitled Waking the Fallen: Resurrected, the re-issue is slated to be three discs that will feature the original album in its entirety, previously unreleased b-sides, live and alternate versions of songs, the first cut of the music video for “Unholy Confessions”, a brand new live video for “Chapter Four”, and a 30 minute documentary that covers the band’s early career and will include previously unreleased live footage. The re-issue will also feature brand new album art, which has not yet been unveiled.

A teaser trailer for the new album was released yesterday and can be viewed above. Waking the Fallen: Resurrected is scheduled to be released on August 25th.
