At the Drive-In announce album release date, new song; add tour dates

Posted by on February 22, 2017

Seventeen years ago, post-hardcore rockers At the Drive-In released Relationship of Command, an album we thought would be their last. It was back in 2012, when we heard about their reunion, promising to perform at festivals, but no plans to return to the studio. Since then, change has happened, including their second return in 2016. Back in December, we heard their first new song in 16 years “Governed by Contagions.” And now, At the Drive-In will release their new album in • ter a • li • a on May 5 via Rise Records, which you can preorder right now!

At the Drive-In unveiled another new song, “Incurably Innocent,” which you can check out below:

Vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala described this tune as, “a song about sexual abuse and being able to finally speak out.”

In • ter a • li • a which is latin for “among other things,” was produced by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Rich Costey at Hollywood’s Sound Factory. It consists of 11 tracks clocking at 41 minutes in length, promising to pick up where 2000’s Relationship of Command left off as it ensures to “rockets off into myriad other trajectories as unpredictable as they are intense.” Hearing two songs already from the now highly anticipated release, stylistically it seems they are on the right path for those that did enjoy the acclaimed Relationship of Command as much as we did.

Check out in·ter a·li·a’s tracklist:

1) “No Wolf Like The Present”
2) “Continuum”
3) “Tilting At The Univendor”
4) “Governed By Contagions”
