It turns out that Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin’s house wasn’t stolen from him as he’s alleged, but apparently, he likes it so much that he didn’t want to leave it. TMZ reports that a standoff with the increasingly-unhinged early-aughts yarler involved over 30 armed police officers and ended with Scantlin being arrested. Apparently, last month, Los Angeles police got a call about a car in Scantlin’s driveway being burglarized. When they showed up to investigate, Scantlin ran inside and refused to come out. Backup were called in, and after a three-hour standoff in which the singer refused to come out, officers finally broke down his back door and arrested him. Ironically, he was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and the car that was supposedly being broken into was just trying to be jump-started by him and a few friends. Either way, whether it’s onstage or off, the Puddle of Mudd vocalist is having one hell of an erratic year that continues to involve handcuffs. It’d really be in his best interests to seek help.
