Someone over at Blabbermouth must know Polish, because they found a posting on Behemoth’s Polish language website stating that the band’s guitarist/vocalist Adam “Nergal” Darski, who has been diagnosed with leukemia, has found a bone marrow donor that’s a genetic match! That’s phenomenal news, considering that only four in ten patients awaiting a match find one and receive the transplant before dying. Apparently, he’ll soon undergo radiation to destroy his old bone marrow, which contains the leukemia cells. The next step is to replace the marrow with the healthy donor marrow, which will hopefully produce healthy blood. He’s definitely not out of the woods yet, but it’s encouraging news to hear that Nergal is on the road to getting on the road to recovery.
