Death metal veterans Incantation are one of those bands you know what to expect from every one of their releases, yet they still excel on doing that right and after a few years from their well-received album Dirges of Elysium, it’s time for them to announce a new record, and a new label.
Back at the beginning of their careers, the band signed with Relapse Records and they worked together for the next 8 years before going their separate ways and signing with Candlelight and Listenable records. Today, both entities decided to get back together to release Incantation’s 10th album. Guitarist John McEntee said the following about the new deal:
“Yes it is true we have returned to Relapse Records. Over the last 8 years we have been working with them on various projects with great results. It’s awesome to start a new chapter of the band going back to our roots and working with the label that believed in us back in 1990 when we were still a demo band. It’s great to work with a label that still believes in us in 2016 and still believes in the perseverance of real death metal.”
Drummer Kyle Severn added:
“2016 is off to a great start for Incantation Death Metal!!! We are extremely excited to announce that we are returning to the Relapse Family. They were there a quarter century ago when Incantation and Relapse were both starting their careers, so to be able to come full circle and release our 10th studio album with them is truly amazing and we are looking forward to the release and touring this record later this year!!!!“
The album is pending to receive a release date and name but is expected to be completed by the end of this month and be out by summer of this year. Meanwhile, the band will head out to Europe right after finishing recording and hopefully that will follow-up with some North American tour dates. The dates confirmed for Europe will go as follows:
