Today marks thirty two years since the late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton died due to a horrific bus accident in Sweden. We reflected on his passing two years ago as well as honored his eternal legacy. Earlier today, Metallica has shared an image of Burton with a short comment reading, “We miss you every day, Cliff.” Kirk Hammett has also shared a few words via Instagram, stating:
“To my Brother Cliff whose memory I will always cherish – Rock on wherever you are !!!”
Last spring, The Salvation Kingdom, a documentary on the late bassist’s life was released. The film features his biological big sister, Connie Burton, who shared untold stories about her brother. Watch the film here.
