When we last checked in with Jason Newsted, he’d cancelled his plans to play at this weekend’s Soundwave Festival in Australia. Or had he? A tweet from the promoter said that the band’s gear had arrived in Brisbane, but a since-deleted message on the former Metallica bassist’s Facebook page said that they’d cancelled all their dates for February and March. Just recently, Newsted made it official, putting up a slightly longer message stating that there would be no shows for the rest of this month and next.

We are all gutted by this turn of events. Our hope is that we will have another opportunity to share our Heavy Music with you all again sometime in the near future. Well, that sucks. Here’s hoping that whatever personal issues he’s dealing with are dealt with and everything’s OK with the band. In the meantime, at least there’s a new video for you to watch.
