Italian death metallers Fleshgod Apocalypse embarked on a European tour that started earlier this month (7) in support of their fourth studio album, King. Late last year, they had a successful North American tour with Epica, Arkona and The Agonis,t and on this European trek, they brought Carach Angren and Nightland with them. Due to an unfortunate back injury by drummer/guitarist/vocalist Francesco Paoli, however, the band have withdrawn from their planned gigs in Spain. The show scheduled for tonight in Madrid will continue without them, featuring  Carach Angren and Nightland. However, tomorrow’s gig in Bilbao is completely cancelled.

The band made the following statement below:

We’re deeply sorry to inform you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we won’t be able to play our two remaining shows in Spain. Our fellows Carach Angren and Nightland will still be on stage tonight in Madrid, while tomorrow’s gig in Bilbao is officially canceled.

Unfortunately, our drummer Francesco is suffering a severe back injury, which can be medically treated but, of course, makes impossible for us to perform at the moment.

Nevertheless, the other band members will be available today to meet the fans at the merch table, right after the show.

We’ll do all we can to make up for this, and we’re at work right now to be back in Spain as soon as possible!

Thanks so much for all the support we’ve received during this tour, it’s simply mind-blowing!

See you guys very soon

Fleshgod Apocalypse”

Hopefully, Paoli’s personal healing through war, will get them back to Spain soon enough.
