One of the biggest surprises of Darkest Hour’s self-titled album (and Sumerian debut) was the song “By the Starlight.” While the album had featured more melodic vocals from singer John Henry, “By the Starlight” was a full-on duet with female guest vocals from a woman known as Dræmings. That must have resonated with their new label, as they’ve announced the signing of her band, also called DRÆMINGS.

This is another shift away from the metalcore that Sumerian was built on, which they’ve started to get away from by signing bands like Circa Survive. Much more in the alternative or pop world, the band’s debut album features A Perfect Circle members Jeff Friedl and Matt McJunkins and the  band are self-described as “haze pop.” And while a release date hasn’t been announced yet, it’s “coming soon.” In the meantime, the band’s on tour with Night Riots.
