deathvalleyhighDeath Valley High, a Bay Area band that have blended metal, goth and pop influences on their two albums so far, have announced that they’re working on a five-song EP, Duel, that will be due out in May. What’s interesting about the EP is that it will be a covers album that will include guest vocals from the likes of Deftones’ Chino Moreno, Revolting Cocks’ Chris Connelly and Death Angel’s Mark Osegueda.

News of the EP lands just as the band takes to the road with Orgy and 9Electric. “We are thrilled to be on the ‘Sick Talk Tour’ with Orgy and 9Electric to bring the DVH flav to new crowds,” singer/guitarist Reysa Osburn says. “The ‘cruel summer’ is coming (hint) and we’re excited to usher in our newest effort Duel, an EP of covers with some of our closest friends and conspirators.” So Banamarama’s “Cruel Summer” will be one of the songs covered then?
