After a while, even the most seasoned pugilist has to take a break, so after (allegedly) kicking someone in the ribs, putting a photographer in a headlock and getting knocked out a few years back, fighter and sometime singer Glenn Danzig has stated that he’s going to be giving up the fighting touring life. In an interview with Loudwire, Danzig suggested that his current tour, with Superjoint Ritual and Prong, may be his last. “I think this is going to be it,” he told them. “I’ll do some shows here or there ,but I don’t think I’m going to tour anymore.” That being said, it’s not like Danzig has been a touring juggernaut the last few years anyway. This current tour is probably the most extensive one he’s done in some years. Correct us if we’re wrong, but normally, he’ll play a festival or two, then just do a handful of shows as Danzig/Samhain/Misfits around Halloween.

It makes sense that he might want to give up the touring life, though. Even if he isn’t making money every time some wannabe punk rocker picks up a Misfits shirt to make a statement at Hot Topic, the first few Misfits albums are probably still making him cash. And if he’s really as camera averse as everyone suggests, that means he’s constantly annoyed by having people taking shitty camera phone pics of him (although he didn’t seem to have any problems posing with pictures for people in the media, as our Facebook and Instagram feed showed yesterday). But at 60, maybe he’d rather concentrate on making albums (Skeletons is out next month, an Elvis and original album are coming soon as well).  Maybe Danzig off the road makes more sense than Danzig on the road. That being said. the Fresh Step ain’t gonna buy itself, so he might heed the call to hit the road yet.
