When Sevendust announced their Spring tour with Lacuna Coil last year, it was initially rumored to include fellow ’90s-formed band Coal Chamber. The band, which featured Devildriver frontman Dez Fafara before he wised up, broke up a decade ago, but announced that they’d reunited in 2011. It came as a bit of a surprise to hear that they’d be touring, and when the tour was announced last November, Coal Chamber wasn’t listed. A tweet we sent to Dez asked everyone to “hold tight.” Well, we’ve hung, and today, it’s been announced that the nu-metal band will indeed be on the tour.
Was America clamoring to hear “Big Truck” once again? Perhaps, but there wasn’t any reason given as to why there was such a gap in between the tour being announced and Coal Chamber’s confirmation of actually being included on it. The tour has also announced its openers. For the first half, Candlelight Red, a band that Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose has produced, will be opening. The excellent Stolen Babies, featuring former The Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Gil Sharone, will be opening the second half. Check out the dates after the jump.
