Update: CTV News Edmonton has confirmed the 34-year-old man who was stabbed on Monday night (30th) has died from his injuries. Homicide investigators were called to the scene around midnight, just ninety minutes after the altercation took place. The 36-year-old suspect has been arrested.
CTV News Edmonton reports a man in his early 30s was stabbed last night (30th) after the Amon Amarth show in Edmonton, CA at the Edmonton Convention Center. The ambulance rushed the stabbing victim to Royal Alexandra Hospital shortly after leaving the show where the incident took place. According to CTV News, an altercation occurred on a Jasper Avenue sidewalk near the convention center at around 10:30PM and by midnight, his condition was not provided. Meanwhile, the suspect who appears to be in his mid-30s has been arrested.
The victim’s condition currently remains unknown.
Edmonton Police Service Staff SGT. Lance Parker told CTV News Edmonton:
“Originally, it wasn’t looking good, but we don’t have an update on the (victims) condition,”
Police didn’t know what triggered the incident as 6 EPS cruisers were parked just outside the venue.
