It was just a few days ago when Mötley Crüe/Sixx:A.M. bassist announced his “unofficial” retirement. However, according to TMZ, he could be featured as the third judge on ABC’s American Idol reboot. Ryan Seacrest had a secret meeting with ABC execs earlier this week to discuss the differences he had with them which involves salary and wanting to be credited as Executive Producer. However, when the series resurrects, Seacrest essentially agreed on a salary between $10-$15 million, while Katy Perry signed a $25 million contract. The series wanted Lionel Richie to join in as the second judge, who would make between $3-$5 million. Despite the 32-year-old diva Katy, exceeding the awaiting agreement with Richie, ABC wants Sixx as the third judge, who would make even less.

The acclaimed voice talent series ended on its fifteenth season during the spring of 2016. Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler is the only judge from the hard rock/metal community to be featured in the series. We can’t tell just yet if Sixx being on the show will be worth tuning into the series. Only time will tell if it would help bring out more of a “wild side” to the show.
