Tragedy has struck the music world once again as a horrific accident earlier this week resulted in one death and six injured including a member in critical condition. Fox 40 has reported, members from the Colorado hardcore band Short Fuse 59 were heading home from California on Interstate 5 when their van and trailer was struck behind a Ford Escape around 2:40AM early Monday (27th). Unfortunately, Colin Michael Mulhern, vocalist of the Colorado rock group If I Fail did not survive the accident and has passed away. The 30-year-old participated on the tour to sell merchandise for Short Fuse 59. According to the California Highway Patrol, alcohol and drugs were found in the driver’s car and the woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The accident has injured all members. However, it was last reported that drummer Patrick Carney (28) is in a coma and remains in critical condition at a California hospital.

Members from If I Fail shared the following statement as well as a GoFundMe page to pay for Carney’s medical expenses.

“We would like to thank everyone that has reached out to us during this difficult time. We are absolutely devastated of the loss of our brother and vocalist Colin Michael. The whole situation has left us speechless. He will be greatly missed by a countless amount of lives that he has touched.

Please keep your thoughts with our brothers in SHORT FUSE 59. There will be a gofundme link in the comments for Patrick Carneywho is still recovering in the hospital.

If anyone wants to share memories of Colin please do so in the comments. We would love to hear your stories how Colin has impacted your life.

We had just finished recording our new EP and we want everyone to hear it as soon as possible. All Colin ever wanted was people to listen and sing his lyrics back to him. We are aiming to release it this Friday, August 31st. Titled “The Author of all your Pain”

Thank you for your continuous support. We love you Colin.

-IIF”

Our condolences go out to Mulhern’s family, friends, and bandmates during this difficult time. We also send our thoughts to Carney and hopes he pull through.
