acaciavanThe day before Thanksgiving is always one of the biggest party nights of the year. That’s why now is as good of a time as any to urge Metal Insider readers not to drink and drive. If you need a visual reminder of that, look no farther than The Acacia Strain, whose van was hit by an alleged drunk driver yesterday, putting the rest of their tour in jeopardy. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in the accident, as it happened while the van was parked. Unfortunately, however, the drunk and/or shitty driver hit the van’s axle, making it not safe to drive. The Acacia Strain’s Vincent Bennett shared some pics of the accident and (alleged) drunk driver via his Twitter account.

As of a few hours ago, the van was in the shop, and the band were hoping they would be able to make it to tonight’s show in Montreal. The accident reportedly happened in Hartford, CT, according to theprp. The Acacia Strain are currently on the Eternal Enemies tour with Emmure, Fit for a King, Kublai Khan and Sylar. We’ll update this story as we hear more. But seriously, DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE. The results could be far worse than ruining a band’s short term touring plans and annoying their Canadian fans.
