When Phil Anselmo caught up with Jack Antonio last week and spoke about the Superjoint Ritual reunion being a one-off, that wasn’t the only topic discussed. Antonio brought up his long-in-the-works autobiography, Mouth For War: Pantera and Beyond. The book has had a firm release date since May – January 13th, 2015. That firm release date just became a loose release date, though, so if you want to read about the trials and tribulations of Anselmo, you’re going to have to wait a while, and it’s due to Phil’s time out on the road.
“The autobiography is something I’ve got to delay because I’ve been working my ever-loving balls off this entire year. To really get down and write a comprehensive, fun book to read, I can’t have any other distractions. Because living out on the road is one thing and I have a set regimen and I really can’t deviate from that process. I haven’t had much time to think about the book all that much aside from keeping in touch with Corey. I know he’s been busy organizing the Housecore Horror Film And Music Festival himself. There is a little bit of a delay on the book. The more I learn about it and its release date, the more you cats will learn about it. But as of right now, it’s just hit the brakes.”
Well, at least you’ve got Scott Ian’s book to read if you’re jonesing for some metal tales in the next few months. Author Corey Mitchell and Anselmo will have plenty of time to hang out next weekend, though, as they’ll be putting on the second annual Housecore Horror Film Fest.
