Roughly two years ago, in June of 2015, death metal icons Morbid Angel shockingly announced a huge lineup change, removing all members aside from founding guitarist Trey Azagthoth and announcing the return of bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker. Last week we mentioned albums to look forward to for 2017 and Morbid Angel was included on this list. While a release date isn’t set in stone just yet, it looks like their follow-up from 2011’s Illud Divinum Insanus is definitely happening this year.
After two years of questioning the full line-up, Azagthoth revealed on his facebook, Scott Fuller from Annihilated as their new drummer. Not only did he inform about the new face, he mentioned the drums were recorded, “and will soon start on the guitars, vocals, and bass. It has been awesome working with Erik Rutan and Mana Studios.”
