When Down announced plans for a mini-tour back in March, it seemed like a good bet that they would test out some new material from the first of four new EPs during these shows. Well as it turns out, Down will indeed be performing some new songs during the tour, which kicks off tomorrow (May 18) in Broussard, LA.

Guitarist Kirk Windstein confirmed this in an interview with AL.com, saying:

“We’ll probably play one or two new [songs] at the show actually. They’re kind of a throwback to what we were doing at the very beginning, on the Nola record [Down’s 1995 platinum debut]. I think the fans are going to love it.”

Windstein also reportedly revealed that he expects Down to release their new EP later this Summer. And according to AL.com, the first of a series of new EPs will be titled Down IV. However, both the release time frame and title have yet to be officially confirmed. Either way, it looks like we can look forward to seeing fan filmed footage of Down performing new material in the very near future.
