Lyric video premiere: Necropia bring you “Pestilence”

Posted by on March 23, 2018

Since their formation in 2011, Long Island’s Necropia have staked out a claim as one of the island’s premier technical technical progressive death metal bands. They’ve released two EPs (2012’s self-titled and 2015’s Creation of Sin) and served as direct support at last year’s Summer Slaughter stop at NYC’s Webster Hall. It’s all been leading up to the the band’s first full length, Desecration Complex, which will be released on April 20th. Today, we’re psyched to premiere the album’s first single, “Pestilence,” which features vocals from Immense Suffering’s Ben Marmarosa.

Vocalist Tameem Shaker cites horror movies as the inspiration behind the song:

Basically after watching enough b-list plague-themed horror movies, I had the inspiration to write this track. Really nothing else to it, sounded like a wild idea to write from the perspective of a plague victim

You can preorder Desecration Complex here, and it’ll be out on April 20th.

Necropia will be direct support tomorrow (24) for Slaughter to Prevail at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. More information about that here and the band’s Facebook page.
