2010 is already turning out to be a busy year for John Bush. First, Armored Saint released their first album in ten years La Raza back in March. And now he is about to once again embark on the festival run with Anthrax. Bush also discussed with MetalSucks.net how he may or may not be re-recording the vocals on Anthrax’s long-awaited new album Worship Music (by the way, is it called that because it lived, then died, and may someday rise again?). So as he keeps us guessing on his future with Anthrax, Bush took the time to compose a list of his top 20 favorite singers over at Ranker.com.

What makes the list interesting, besides the fact that it’s from arguably one of the most kick ass frontmen in metal, is the singers he mentions. While expected singers like Ozzy Osbourne, James Hetfield and Rob Halford are featured, Bush also lists unexpected singers like Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Four Tops’ Levi Stubb & Earth Wind and Fire’s Maurice White and Phillip Bailey as influences. In fact, his #5 choice was Chaka Khan. I knew John Bush was a very unique and gifted talent, but it’s very interesting to see how wide of a range his influences reach. Check out the entire list here and read his brief reasoning for each of his choices. There are a lot more surprises to read on the list. Though sorry Joey Belladonna, you aren’t mentioned.
