As expected, Black LAbel Society mastermind Zakk Wylde is leaving Gibson Guitars and Marshall Amps and is striking out on his own line, called Wylde Audio. This news comes from an interview at NAMM, in a roomful of prototypes of his new line of guitars (which he calls fiddles) and amps.

Said Wylde in the video interview with GearGods:

“It’s pretty much the next logical step. You know, obviously you’re a player, then you’re a coach, then you’re a general manager, and the only next thing is me and you gotta start our own franchise.”

In addition to guitars and amps, Wylde says they’ll be making pedals and just about everything else down the line. He also stressed that there’s no bad blood between himself and his former endorsements, but he will be retiring all his Gibson guitars and Marshall amps as production ramps up of his own gear line.
