Wacken Metal Battle USA has officially opened submissions for its 2026 edition, running from October 1 through December 1, giving unsigned American bands the chance to earn a slot at the sold-out Wacken Open Air festival in Germany. The winning band will receive a performance slot at Wacken 2026, a full professional backline, $1,000 toward flights, and VIP camping. This year’s competition follows a strong 2025 season where Southern California/Arizona act Mourning High claimed the national title, representing the U.S. at Wacken. Interested bands can apply here.
