Volbeat frontman and guitarist Michael Poulsen has recently disclosed he is scheduled to undergo throat surgery next month. In an interview with metalradio.gr, he confirmed the procedure, acknowledging that he will need time to recover and rehabilitate. This announcement comes alongside the news that Volbeat won’t be touring in 2024. Instead, they will focus on crafting their next studio album, follow-up-to-2021’s Servant of the Mind, and spending time with their families. However, Poulsen will remain active in music, stretching the outskirts of Volbeat with a darker venture promoting the debut album of his death metal side project, Asinhell. Impii Hora, is scheduled to arrive next Friday (29th) via Metal Blade Records. Poulsen will rest his vocal cords with this outfit as he handles the guitar duties while the vocals are delivered by Marc Grewe (Insidious Disease, ex-Morgoth).
