Sweden’s legendary Shining, the brainchild of the phenomenally evil genius Niklas Kvarforth, has announced two brand-new official bootleg albums: Live in Transylvania and Beating Belgium Black and Blue.
The former, recorded in 2009, features the following masterworks: “Intro I,” “Eradication of the Condition,” “Yttligare Ett Steg Närmare Total Jävla Utfrysning,” “Submit to Self-Destruction,” “Vilseledda Barnasjälars Hemvist,” “Intro II,” “Besvikelsens Dystra Monotoni,” and “Neka Morgondagen.”
The latter captures Shining’s lethal set at the 2016 edition of Graspop Metal Meeting: “Vilja & Dröm,” “Framtidsutsikter,” “Människa O’Avskyvärda Människa,” “Submit to Self-Destruction,” “Låt Oss Ta Allt Från Varandra,” and “For the God Below.”
Each of these must-haves is limited to 666 digipacks and will be shipped on March 17, this St. Patrick’s Day; indeed, Shining fans are, in my unwavering opinion, the luckiest in the world to have the sonic terrorism of Sir Niklas Kvarforth in their lives to inject unbounded quantities of orgasmic horror. Music enthusiasts can, and most definitely should, choose to have their discs signed by the irreplaceable emissary of the Devil himself — “du magnifika ängel av vackraste nyans.”
Be Shining’s victim, and place your preorders for Live in Transylvania and Beating Belgium Black and Blue from shininglegions.com now. While visiting the most rewardingly insidious webshop of them all, make sure to check out the other exciting options; meaning, for example, don’t miss out on the opportunities to possess gorgeous physical copies of Shining’s recently released Feberdrömmar (Del Ett) and The Helsinki Tapes.
Both of the limited 2024 and 2025 versions of Niklas Kvarforth’s literary nightmare, When Prozac No Longer Helps, are currently shipping to every country so that Kvarforth’s anti-humanitarian art can cover the whole earth in a blanket of ashes. May I suggest, a sexier Valentine’s Day gift, aside from Shining’s Lots of Girls Gonna Get Hurt, has never existed; every book is inked in Kvarforth’s blood.
In related news, The Sinister Initiative, the label founded by Sir Niklas, has confirmed that the long-awaited sophomore album of Tuomas Tahvanainen’s brilliantly demented Cold Prophet, Intentio Exitus, will be unleashed in September on digipack, DLP, and cassette. In addition, a stunning wooden box set will likewise be produced.
