In 2020 we saw new music from Mr.Bungle, which makes us wonder if we’ll see a new album from Tomahawk or, maybe, Fantômas drop a surprise release in 2021? It looks like one of the two will happen as yesterday (19th), Ipecac Recordings, the label co-owned by Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr.Bungle, Dead Cross, Tomahawk, Fantômas), shared a teaser of what could be new music from Tomahawk. The short clip shows an audio clip along with text reading tomorrow’s (21st) date. There are speculations that this could be an announcement of Tomahawk’s fifth studio album, which last year, they did reveal they were working on a new record. The avant-garde group features Patton and current and former members of Mr. Bungle, Jesus Lizard, Helmet, and more. The group’s most recent album is 2013’s Oddfellows. In an unlikely scenario, it’s worth mentioning it’s been nearly sixteen years since Fantômas’ latest effort, 2005’s Suspended Animation. Fantômas is another avant garde metal group featuring members of Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, and Melvins.
