Former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson breaks his silence on social media

Posted by on September 1, 2021

Former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson has made what could be his first public post since he was fired from the group this past May. The update is cryptic and brief as the former bassist updated his cover and profile image with what looks like a title for something new called The Lucid and a date for September 8th, 2021. We will update as these cryptic posts continue.

Megadeth is currently on the summer tour of the year with Lamb of God, Trivium, and Hatebreed. The band recruited former bassist James LoMenzo as Ellefson’s touring replacement. His official replacement has yet to be announced but will be revealed on the group’s upcoming album, The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!.

Ellefson was fired from the group following allegations of him sexting a Dutch fan (19 at the time), who had taken videos of their interactions without his consent and shared them with a friend.
