With just nine days until The Metal Tour of the Year kicks off, Megadeth have revealed former bassist James LoMenzo will be joining in on the co-headlining run with Lamb of God.

Dave Mustaine comments:

“I’m happy to announce that former bassist and Megadeth alumni James LoMenzo has graciously stepped in on the Metal Tour of The Year. Tour rehearsals just began, and we cannot wait to start crushing North America.”

 LoMenzo adds:

“I’m super stoked to be rejoining Megadeth for the upcoming Metal Tour of the Year. There are no better fans than Megadeth fans, I can’t wait to get out there and shred some Megadeth music with you all.”

Metal Insider contributors had a Headbangers’ Brawl in May guessing who will replace David Ellefson on their upcoming trek as Matt Brown and Chris Annunziata were the ones who guessed LoMenzo. The tour with Lamb of God, Trivium, and Hatebreed is scheduled to kick off on August 20th. Check out the tour dates here
