Swedish symphonic metal band Eleine have announced the immediate departure of drummer Jesper Sunnhagen and bassist Filip Stålberg, citing inappropriate behavior toward fans and a violation of band contracts. Despite the lineup change, founding members Madeleine Liljestam and Rikard Ekberg will move forward with their upcoming tour, set to begin on April 2, in support of their 2023 album We Shall Remain.
Eleine’s statement on Friday (14):
“Dear Eleine Legions,
Unfortunately we must share that our drummer Jesper Sunnhagen, and our bass player Filip Stålberg, will have to leave the band.
They have broken one of the most important parts of our band member contract by acting inappropriately towards our fans.
Their departure will be immediate and will NOT affect our upcoming tours.
There will be replacement musicians to stand in during the upcoming shows.
Thank you for understanding that we put our fans first.
With love,
Madeleine & Rikard”
