Cynic have recently announced their first set of shows in eight years! The progressive music icon has revealed that these shows will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Focus, performing the record in its entirety at 70000tons of Metal, which sets sail from Miami, FL on January 30 through February 3, and ProgPower USA on September 6 in Atlanta, GA. Cynic will also pay homage to late members Sean Reinert and Sean Malone, as these performances will also mark the band’s first live shows since the members’ passings.

While the group has hinted at a tour with Atheist, there will definitely be more anniversary, and memorial tribute shows in the future. The new live lineup will include Paul Masvidal (vocals and guitar), Max Phelps (Exist, Death to All) on additional guitars and vocals, Brandon Griffin (The Faceless, The Zenith Passage) on bass, and Matt Lynch (Nova Collective, Intronaut) on drums and percussion.
