While many of us were planning to watch tonight’s Rams/Cowboys NFL Finals Game just to see Mike Patton sing the National Anthem, Patton unfortunately is too ill to perform. The news comes from the Faith No More/Dead Cross singer’s Facebook with the following statement:
Sorry football folks, i woke up feeling horrible. No anthem today for me!
We’ve also gotten confirmation from an employee of his label at ipecac that he won’t be performing tonight, but will hopefully be better next week when he’s scheduled to perform at the Chris Cornell tribute.
As unfortunate as this is, it could be worse hearing him struggle and end up sounding like this.
