Good news for technical death metal fans! Pennsylvania power house Rivers of Nihil, unveiled the specifics on their sophomore album Monarchy scheduled to be out on August 25th via Metal Blade Records and what better way to build up the hype than by releasing a sample track off it titled “Perpetual Growth Machine” which can be streamed below.
After the success of their critically acclaimed debut album The Conscious Seed of Light, the band is back with their newest effort in hopes to top themselves and what we can hear from this first single, there is a raw and visceral energy towards that target.
Guitarist Brody Uttley remarks:
“I lost a few close friends. The loss of these people had a profound influence on the creation of the music for this record. I was having strong feelings of rage, sadness, hope, and frustration as a result. The songs turned out heavier, darker, sadder, and more frightening than I had ever hoped that they would. The emotional tension completely falls apart.”
No plans for tours have been revealed but, after sharing stage with Death (DTA Tours) and Obituary last year, it would come as no surprise if they decide to headline a tour in support of the album once is released in the near future.
