Exclusive: Activator Premieres “Shackle”

Posted by on September 12, 2013

activatorThis Tuesday (September 17), Activator will release its self-titled debut full-length. Today, though, we’re giving you an advance taste of the NYHC band’s album with the song “Shackle.”

Though previously released as a rough demo, “Shackle” is one of the songs Activator re-worked for the self-titled album, with assistance from Jim Williams of Maximum Penalty/Nausea fame on vocal production and mixed by Matt Snedecor (Rush, Dresden Dolls). And even though it’s technically their first official release, Activator’s self-titled debut sounds like classic NYHC crossover, combing hardcore rhythm with old-school thrash riffs.

Check out the song “Shackle” for yourself in the video below. The self-titled album is now available for pre-order at activatornyc.com. And for those in the Brooklyn area, don’t miss Activator’s record release show on October 3 at Union Pool.
